I’ve been drawing a bit more recently, so I’ve decided to start posting my doodles on here.  Hopefully it’ll be kind of a regular thing.
This one’s partially just an effort to get the hang of shading.  I do my shading cel-style, because screw crosshatching.  I’m also trying to get better at drawing faces.  Suffice it to say I’m much happier with the bottom picture than the top.

Ni no Kuni, where have you been all my life?

So apparently Studio Ghibli has a game and it completely passed under my radar.  I guess there’s a DS game that has been out since 2010 (in Japan), and there’s also a PS3 version that’s supposed to come out sometime this year.  I don’t know if the DS version is planned to be localized for America, but the PS3 game is supposed to be here as soon as early 2012.

But anyway, THIS IS AWESOME.

“Alan, you’re acting like I’m going to find him sitting there working. Just, ‘Hey kiddo, lost track of time.’”

“Wouldn’t that be something.”

You know how there are some lines that give you tingles?

Review: Easy A

I wonder if, by the time filmmakers get around to making their first feature, too much time has passed since high school for them to remember what it was actually like.  This movie is a case in point.

This is the girl who stole my spot in my Writing for Games class.

On the Google Group for the class:

Danny Bilson (professor) -

Thursday night we will go over notes on the one pagers that we missed
last time and hear presentations of mechanics to fiction games.

Annie Ballard (ex-Mormon mother of three who has never played games ever and took the last registration spot for the class) -

Hi Danny

Hope your trip went well. We missed you.  We enjoyed meeting your partner though. Learned tons. :)

I must tell you I’ve been working diligently and am about to turn in my one page. (working on 3 page too)

The reason for my tardiness is I’ve decided to make this my thesis project.

I’m super excited to workshop my idea in this class as this has been pivotal for me in many ways thus far. What I learned in the first class sort of blew me away… causing me to rethink everything. EVERYTHING.

I’m currently in thesis prep and last night I pitched my REVAMPED plan with the fact i would be writing a game -  my thesis film being the opening to the game. True trans media.

I was given the green light…
Yay!

So I’m excited to get it all this to you.
Excited to learn as much as I can…

Chris and I also worked on our Thursday night presentation today and am loving the exercise.

Thanks.

Danny Bilson -

Ok.

I’M DISGRUNTLED

I’ve realized that most if not all of my complaints with my philosophy class stem from the fact that my TA sucks.  This is how my discussion section usually goes.

Me: Question.

TA: Explanation based on a misunderstanding of the question.

Me: No, no, attempt at rephrasing question.

TA: Another misunderstanding of the question.

———-15 minutes later————

Me: No, argh, fourth or fifth rephrasing of question.

TA: OOOOH!  Correct understanding of question.  … That’s a good question.  I dunno.

Me: FFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUU-

So Mike just saw Buried…

I hate you, Rodrigo Cortés.  I hate you more than any lousy, pissant filmmaker.  I hate you more than Uwe Boll.  I hate you more than Tyler Perry.  I hate you more than Jason Friedberg and Aaron Seltzer.  As the credits rolled, I could see you sitting there with a shit-eating grin on your face.  I hate you for doing that to me.
